" I have read almost all of the Pern books and they are all very good. " I liked the first book in this trilogy better but this is still a great read! The only thing that bothered me was Menolly's tendency to feel sorry for herself and underestimate herself no matter how many people complimented her. " I enjoyed watching Menolly become more sure of herself. Not too deep, but it kept me up reading late into the night. The author's recent death has me going back and rereading many books. " This may be the first time I've read this particular triology since I was a teenager. A very timely read for a seventh grader! " - Jerry, I read it at a very difficult time in my life during which I was moving to a new place with frightening new circumstances, which is exactly what happened to the main character of this book. The main character honestly needed to be more flawed. It is clearly intended for a young audience, and maybe for them it works out, but I found it too trite. She triumphs over adversity to make a place for herself at the Harper Hall. " Though I love to read anything by Anne McCaffrey the series about Menolly is a personal favorite! " - Michelle, The whole book is just her first week at the Harper Hall. A continuation from the first of the 3 Harper Hall books. Glad I read on because I was bored of the first two Pern books. I really like how this character developed. I couldn't stop myself from reading this book over and over again.Don't even remember how many times it's been that I wish this book will be made into a movie. " Dragonsinger is even better than Dragonsong, the first book of its series.

I usually read it once every couple of months. Overall Performance: Narration Rating: Story Rating:.
